Rochelle Allen is a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of the interactive magazine & digital marketplace BARCODE, which celebrates underground fashion and art by showcasing the work of emerging artists and creating an inclusive community that provides a platform for underrepresented individuals to shine in the media.
Rochelle earned her Associate in Arts and Sciences degree in Fashion Marketing and Communication from The New School - Parsons School Of Design, showcasing her commitment to both the creative and business aspects of the fashion industry.
Through her work, she explores the subconscious mind and draws inspiration from her vibrant and vivid dreams to manifest her vision in the physical form through different artistic methods.
Rochelle likes to showcase hidden esoteric truths within her art while critiquing society and pop culture through a surrealist lens. The idea of mortality and absurdism is a common theme in a lot of her work, alongside discovering solar-punk techniques to merge technology with nature. Creating immersive full sensory experiences is Rochelle’s favourite way to invoke subversive thoughts or feelings about ourselves and the world around us.

Working with Rochelle on The Abstractnaut in Spring 2021 for a unique live virtual show was an absolute pleasure. As our stylist, she curated and customized futuristic looks that perfectly fit the show’s abstract theme, while also innovating makeup and quick-change solutions for our live broadcast. Despite severe pandemic restrictions, she put in the work to elevate the project with original ideas, seamless execution, and incredible attention to detail while being reliable, creative, and fun to work with! These elements made the experience pleasant because we knew we could count on her, especially with such a complex project like this one involving different disciplines demanding a lot of communication and logistics. Rochelle fostered an open, collaborative environment that made the production smoother and more dynamic.
